As the ‘older siblings of high school,’ seniors fit the role of admirable idols for underclassmen. Captivating younger students with their magnetic charm, great achievements, and comfortable friendliness, seniors use these impressions to their advantage, turning senior crushes into long-lasting relationships. The Damut is eager to feature Oxford’s most memorable and shockingly daring upperclassmen!
The One Who Pre-Ordered – Do you think Oxford should be separated by junior high and high school?
“No, of course not! I’m so glad Oxford is a junior high and high school merge, if not I would never have come to appreciate the eighth graders in a whole new light. I love seeing the little preteens having fun and the look of joy on their faces when they are finally promoted to high school! Being a TA for CCR is a great way to connect with junior high kids and create lasting relationships, not to mention my favorite extracurriculars: volunteering at Big Brothers Big Sisters after school and helping 7th graders adjust to OA culture through Link Crew! That’s how I met my girlfriend!”
That One Creepy Senior That Always Asks “Where my Hug At?” – How do you feel about the rise of the Superb Senior TikTok trends?
“I feel so validated by the recent Superb Senior Training TikTok trends! I always knew I would find a community that supported my loving tendencies. I love doing this to my sophomore friends, and I’ve made so many more friendships with underclassmen through the curriculum. I’ve even learned new tactics like ‘Guess who?’ and ‘Let me walk you to class’ but my all-time favorite has to be ‘Where my hug at?’ I’ve been inspired to kick off my own Masterclass in ‘How to Become a Superb Senior 101.’ Underclassmen hit me up for the next session.”
Generic Girls Basketball Athlete – How are you preparing for your senior year?
“I feel ready for senior year! I have so many role models from previous years and I really feel like the Girls Basketball team has opened my dating pool to expand my protective tendencies. Without it, I never would’ve met my girlfriend or exes and discovered a whole new love of the sport. My girlfriend and I have a tradition of making out on the sidelines before a game for good luck. I’m a superb senior in the making and I can’t wait to reach my full potential!”
Superb Senior Who Is a College Freshman Now – Do you reminisce about your high school days?
“I miss going to high school. Everyone was younger; that’s what I liked about them. I go to college now and the guys aren’t really my type. They’re older and more mature than me… So how do I solve this dating slump you ask? I tell my younger sister to invite her new friends over! It’s the perfect way to scout new prospects and appeals to my sophomore preference. If not, I also love going to The Source and checking out all the Oxford kiddos!”
The upperclassmen are mature, vibrant almost adults, making them great role models any underclassman can quite literally look up to. As these seniors prepare to head off into their college endeavors, they’ll be preparing flowers for their date’s eighth grade promotions or planning final dates (or even breakups?!) for their significant others.
