Chris Phan, Art Editor

Chris Phan, current junior and art editor of the Gamut, can not recall why he decided to join, but sure is glad he did! Chris can also recall current Gamut peers Nathan Perera or Gia Nguyen attempting to recruit artists for the Gamut, though he’s not sure if he’s making it up and merely creating fanfiction for his past or not. Chris, regrettably, (his own words) can only conjure up “playing video games with his friends” when asked about his hobbies. Avid doom scroller he is, Chris has a timer on TikTok because he thinks he spends too much time on the app, but when the timer goes off he sheepishly states that he “usually just migrates over to Instagram reels or Youtube shorts anyway.” Chris would describe his art style as “lowkey like that one Webtoon UnOrdinary,” and has never really been able to escape the clutches of that style since the third grade; he credits the Webtoon for sort of having a hand in him learning how to draw, as he used to redraw panels from the Webtoon in its entirety. His favorite character is “this super niche character called Gojo, which you’ve probably never heard of before, by the way,” and casual Chris Phan acquaintances or classmates can witness the depth of his love for Gojo, with insurmountable amounts of merch on his being. Overall, this year’s art editor would describe himself as a very boring person, among other adjectives like lame, loser, and uncool, but don’t let this sad self-description stop you from getting to know our very talented Chris!
