Mico Melgar

Mico Melgar, Staff Artist

Following in his older brother’s footsteps, Mico Melgar is ready to take on his first year on the Gamut! Most looking forward to illustrating for the Arts and Entertainment section, Mico finds drawing to be very calming (a word he would use to describe himself, along with chill and collected,) and likes how his mind turns off when he gets in the zone. His favorite things to draw are comic book characters, such as the Marvel antihero Deadpool, and dragons! Some of his favorite movies are Interstellar, Cars 2, and Rango. A firm believer that Olivia Rodrigo’s music is “mid,” Mico is an avid listener of Kanye West and is a dog person—even though he has a turtle. Some of his favorite foods are spaghetti and fried chicken and while he isn’t too much of a cook himself, he likes to bake bread. He can often be found at robotics club meetings or in a corner of the artist’s table during the Gamut class period!
