Spring break is a welcome oasis before the final quarter of school; Students get a chance to rewind and reset before a final push towards summer. Hear from four Oxford students as they share how they enjoyed break!
Sakura Iyota-Nguyen, 11th Grade

What were your favorite ways to unwind during Spring Break?
“Honestly, my favorite way to unwind during spring break is just to go out with people I like, including my friends and family. For example, one day I went out with my dad, grandma, and my uncle to meet up with this movie director… It was a pretty cool experience, and I literally can’t wait to take on this opportunity.”
What are you looking forward to in the last quarter?
“I am looking forward to participating in more school bonding events and also volunteering for more clubs to help people in need. Honestly, I just feel like this year is where I’m going to be at my peak in this school, and I plan to make the most of it while I’m at it by just having fun while still staying on top of my grades.”
What is your dream Spring Break vacation?
“My dream spring break vacation is to go to Japan for a whole week to meet my grandparents and try out the sushi restaurants there. I also wanna go to other cool places there such as Universal Studios Japan, Harajuku, that one hotel with the onsen pools, and Puroland.”
John Kim, 7th Grade:

How did you spend your Spring Break?
“Most of the time I just stayed at home and rested, but on the weekends I went to San Diego Safari Park and saw a concert at Segerstrom.”
What is your dream Spring Break vacation?
“My dream spring break vacation would be to Korea, where I can meet my relatives.”
What are you looking forward to in the last quarter?
“I am looking forward to getting good grades and making new friends!”
Siying Wei, 8th Grade:

How did you spend your Spring Break?
“I spent my spring break at the HOSA State Leadership Conference in Ontario, California, where our HOSA chapter, OA HOSA, was competing against other HOSA chapters. We won 194 awards [as a chapter], and it was really fun since a lot of my friends came, and we had lots of free time to hang out.”
Who did you spend time with during spring break?
“I spent time with my friends and classmates from school. Some older students and family friends also came along.”
What is your dream Spring Break vacation?
“My dream spring break vacation would be to go visit a National Park like Yosemite or Olympia Rainforest. It would be fun to go immerse myself in nature during Spring Break.”
Oliva Victor, 11th Grade:

How did you spend your spring break?
“I mostly spent it prepping for APs but I was able to get back into a lot of my hobbies which was fun! I also reset some healthy habits like eating breakfast and going outside more.
Mostly with my family–which was really nice because with school and all it’s been hard to actually spend time with them.”
What were your favorite ways to unwind during break?
“I love embroidering, going on walks, and watching comfort channels.”
What are you looking forward to in the last quarter?
“Summer break. I think summer break is going to be even better than spring break and I can’t wait.”
