For a more affordable option, Carbon Canyon Regional Park provides wide open grassy areas and rustic trails under a towering grove of OC’s only redwoods. With a $5 entrance fee and cheap parking, the national park is budget-friendly and included in OC Park’s annual $150 photo permit, which grants access to other scenic parks!
Architecture
For seniors wanting an architecture-based look, visit the Getty Villa, Getty Center, and Griffith Observatory in LA! With modern and classical buildings, elegant gardens, and iconic panoramic views of the city’s skyline, both locations offer timeless backdrops. There are usually no entrance fees or photo permits (for casual, handheld sessions) required! San Juan Capistrano Mission in Laguna is another stunning option with Spanish-style architecture, complete with grand arches and romantic gardens; it does require an entrance fee and permits. Not up for a long drive? Go local down to Old Towne Orange for a charming, historical vibe. The downtown offers countless vintage, warm-toned stores and rustic brick roads.
