Caliny Alvarado, Staff Writer

Caliny, whose name is a mash-up of California and New York, has been passionate about writing since she was 8 years old, when she filled pages with poems. This year, she’s bringing that passion to The Gamut to gain hands-on experience in journalism. Outside the classroom, Caliny’s an extremely fast cross-country runner, a soccer player, and plans to join ALAS and FBLA, two clubs which are perfect stepping stones toward her dream career in marketing, where she can utilize her creativity. Inspired by her hardworking mom, Caliny carries that same determination into everything she does. While she’s extremely hard-working, she also has sweet interests that create her bubbly personality, which include her LOVE for frosted sugar cookies, her favorite character Derpy from My Little Pony, and being a pink enthusiast. Also, if you ever see someone in Gamut playing Arsenal on Roblox, that’s probably our one and only Caliny!
