Karina Nguyen, Staff Writer

Avid stock trader and proud owner of a duck-capybara keychain, Karina Nguyen hopes to make a splash on The Gamut’s writing staff in her junior year. She describes herself as a history person, taking challenging classes like AP US History, but she also loves staying informed with today’s news equally and looks forward to putting her love for writing toward reporting the news herself. Outside of school, Karina often finds herself in the flow state gambling in games like Honkai Star Rail or Grow a Garden, where she never gives up before her next big win. “Never take me to Las Vegas,” she says, but it’s not likely she’ll be a career gambler; she wants to become an ER nurse in the future, following in her father’s footsteps and helping people like she’s always wanted to.
